At General Printers 2021 Ltd, we are advancing sustainability through cutting-edge technologies and innovative practices:
Solvent Recovery: One of our standout achievements is the implementation of our unique Italian Donau Carbon Solvent Recovery Plant—the only one of its kind in Africa. This state-of-the-art facility captures and recycles 95% of the printing solvents used in our processes, dramatically reducing the release of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into the atmosphere. By reclaiming and reusing these solvents, we reduce environmental impact and uphold our commitment to clean manufacturing.
Solar Energy: In our ongoing effort to transition toward renewable energy, we have installed 1,000 solar panels generating an impressive 615 kW of clean energy. This system powers a significant portion of our operations, helping us reduce dependency on non-renewable energy sources and cut carbon emissions.
Waste-to-Product Initiatives: Our shredded material waste is not discarded—it’s repurposed into durable rope, extending the life of the material and supporting a circular economy. This initiative minimizes landfill contributions and adds value to what would otherwise be waste.
